Restoring original firmware

Post by xxrepoxx »

I got a question if some one can please help. I know it might be a stupid one but anyway,I was wondering if someone could please tell me how to set the original firmware back on a benq drive, and if its the same process with a sammy drive as well. I have yet to set one back until new ixtreme 1.6 came out. Would it be easier with jungle flasher(never used it) or iprep. Thanks

The reason I need to set it back is because my friend had his 360 red ring on him and he is going to send it back to microsoft to have it fixed and he wants me to set the original firmware back before he sends it off to them, and also my brother has 1.4 firmware on his and he want me to put 1.6 on it instead, his is the sammy drive, and I was under the impression that you had to restore the original firmware before you could reflash. thanks

i think
this drive is a benq
if so do this

you can do this to get it back to stock as long as its not locked up.
you should have a copy of your orig firmware that you saved, that is what you will be using to restore this dvd drive.
do this
make a iprep boot flash with RHPG Iprep v009
in the backup folder make a folder named 1234567
then in that folder make a folder named 12345
in there put the firmware you want to flash in(a copy of your orig firmware :!: ).It needs to renamed to ' bencfw.bin "
with out the " " of course
this would be a copy of your orig firmware that you rename.
then just flash it in like normal
boot on the flash and run the flash command
fben 1234567 12345

that will flash in a copy of your orig firmware.
done
On the samsung
you dont need to restore the dvd drive (that is only hit drives)
all you do is flash it just like the first flash
flash it like it has never been flash
dum/
firmtool will run and build your hacked firmware
then flash

no pun intended but, i don't think the mods are going to be happy about you hijacking someone else's thread.
