PROBLEM hitachi 59DJ

Post by fre4k »

Hello,
I got xbox360 with a Hitachi 59DJ drive, when I was flashing it everything went just fine,x360 was in modeB, windows detected my hitachi drive and I started to write iXtreme firmware, when suddenly my pc lagged, and restarted.. now hitachi drive wont open, and when I try to push eject button power light starts blinking and dvd still wont open..

When I open it manually and put cd in...everything works fine, disk scanning, but due to failed firmware writing I get an error...
And now my pc dont detect Hitachi drive anymore...

How cat this be fixed?
How can I get my original key ?

And one more question... If I buy for example Benqdriveand put it instead of Hitachi, will my xbox work ? Cus I dont have an original key from hitachi and cannot spoof..:|
Any help would be great...

I must be missing something here. How can you write the ixtreme firmware without first dumping the original firmware? I just don't understand that part.

If the firmware chip is erased, or just partially written, your only hope is th find someone that has a willem programmer with the right adapter and be willing to remove the firmware chip and put it into the willem and read the chip and see if there is enough of the firmware on there that has the key of your drive. Then you should be able to create a hacked firmware and inject that key and then program it with the willem, then solder the firmware chip back on. This is job for a professional though so I would recommend searching around for that. Might ask around on xboxhacker.net.

Other than that, that drive is bricked. Without the key, you have no way of creating a hacked firmware to flash back to that drive or any other replacement drives for that matter. I would recommend finding someone thats willing to help you out with a willem programmer.

Have you tried using firmware toolbox version 4.6 with it? Try not connecting the sata cable till you get into windows, then plug in the sata cable. Then open up firmware toolbox, then open the was.bin with it, check the key to make sure its good, and click tools and then recover lost original file. This should make you an original based off whats there. When it's done, click tools->direct drive flash and click differential flash (restore) This should try to restore the drive with the original firmware. If that don't work, then external reprogramming may be the only option besides buying another hitachi and injecting the was.bin firmware into it, that should be the original firmware.

ok, I've posted some information regarding your issue in that other thread. Might want to give that another read over as I've edited a post to add some more information.

Just answer the questions that I asked here so we can keep everything where they belong and I won't get so confused, thats my fault though so no worries.

Here is a link to a pretty reputable reseller. I'm not sure on their international shipping though, or if they do. This is for the connectivity kit.

Yes. You can get another drive, like a samsung or a benq and spoof it to a hitachi 59 and inject your key or you can get another hitachi and flash your original to it either way.

the only way to get the key from your v79 is to install a passkey.it is hard to do and very small work

being that the guy who does the firmware hack is the guy who made the passkey for the v79
im not sure you will see a software fix for the v79 for some time.
