Benq firmware update

Post by hallgsx91 »

Alright guys i flashed my 360 about a month ago with 1.5 and im trying to update it to the new firmware but every time I try to access it to read,write, or flash it tells me to do the tray half open thing. I do it and nothing happens it just stops trying to do whichever one Im doing and I have to start over.What should I do to update my firmware? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

First, what program are you using, Jungle Flasher or Iprep.

Second, What steps are you following?

Here is the tutorial for the Benq with IPrep - http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=5129" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm sorry, I meant how are you powering the drive. After my BenQ was flashed the first time using the console to power it, I couldn't update it the same way. I bought a CK3 Pro and didn't have any problems after that.

So you're powering the drive with your 360. I would seriously consider a connectivity kit. You don't have to force the drive to stay open just pull the power from the 360 as soon as you eject the tray. Then push the tray half-way in and plug the power back in. Now if you're using iprep continue to follow the steps you have taken so far. Or you can always try Jungle Flasher which is my personal favorite.

i thought about trying jungle flasher but it seems complicated to me lol.And Im just stumped on why it wont let me access the drive to read it or write it or erase it.it keeps saying unknown flash chip!Then of course it is looking for benOFW.bin but its not there cause i flashed it with 1.5 a few weeks ago.

benOFW.bin is what iPrep or JF dumps from the drive regardless of what firmware is there.

Search for the key. If by some miracle you have it then you'll be ok, but if not you are now the proud owner of a M$ DVD player.

I'm a first time poster but have used rhpg for a while now. Is there any chance that you have an .bin file saved that is either hacked or not that you used successfully? I did the same thing this weekend but was able to bring my Benq back to life because I had the key. I did not have the original firmware just the key. I used 360firmwaretoolbox to do modify ixtreme files. Then I used jungle flasher to fix the drive. If you have the key let me know and I will help you the best I can.
