Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
I just got a Arcade bundle from WalMart, Opened it for the first time and followed CoFree's video for flashing it to iX 1.6. using iPrep 9, CK3 Pro w/Probe
The darn thing will not get past the dump. It tells me DVD-Key Invalid!
and fails telling me something about not having a Dummy.bin in a directory (my flash stick maybe?)
So next I get the latest Jungle Flasher 0.1.62b,CK3 Pro w/Probe,USB/SATA cable and I followed one of your video tutorial using the JungleFlasher 0.0.43 by the step.......
This time with Jungle Flasher I get the Key.bin, Identify.bin and Inquiry.bin, but when it comes to dumping the Dummy.bin I get this pop-up message: Loading Dummy.bin and Dummy.bin is missing some drive specific information.
Here is a pic of the message:

Also in the JungleFlasher Log view behind the window it says:
"Dummy.Bin file saved to C:\ the directory I told it to be saved\Dummy.bin
Loading DVDKey source file
Inquiry string found
Identify string found
DVD key found @ 0xA030 key is (then the key)
Firmware is a Lite-On Dummy OSIG: PLDS DG-16D2S 7485
Now with the Dummy.bin missing info window in the forground I am afraid to go any further, as is the drives firmware is intact.
I have done what it asked as in 'If Possible you should re-extract your drive info again with latest tools' ( I took all it extracted even the Dummy.bin that it still extracted but gave warning to) I have saved all that info and Rared it just in case.
I am unsure of the steps it asks me to take other than the above.
It asks "Do yyou wish to proceed anyway?"........do I? should I "rebuild the serial info if you have the original drive available."
I would hope it is the original drive, I did buy it 'New' from Walmart.
Still, Jungle Flasher has done more than iPrep 9 did for me but what are my best options at this point?
Did it get enough of the Info on my Dump?
Should I run this new Jungle Flasher and check that box 'Dummy.bin Only'
I want a flawless backup of all the drive info.
any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your time.

Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
Ok thought I would go through the steps above but just choose to dump the one thing that was givings Jungle Flasher 0.1.62b the error. I choose the option on the DVDKey 32 "Dummy.bin Only"
Now I get another Error warning.
DVDKey32 pop-up error window that reads:
***WARNING*** Serial Data is bad

Ok, I don't know what I should do.
Could it be that this 'New' Arcade XBox-360 from Walmart was referbished and sold back to venders?
Could this be a new security measure to make it so I screw up my original firmware (ok, that may be silly)
I was VERY careful at removing all 3 stickers inside the Xbox360 and puting them on wax paper so if they may be needed for a return to Walmart -is that an option?
Man this suckz, I moded my other New Arcade with iX 1.51 and an older JungleFlasher 43b i think. it want great. Same PC same equipment.....

Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
I thought I would try an older version of JungleFlasher 0.1.51, followed the steps and it did its scan check Serial Data looks ok, Key returned: [the key]
4 times. and halted with that DVDKey32 "***WARNING*** Serial Data is Bad"
and on this time around it did not get to the point to ask me where to save the .bins unlike the JungleFlasher 0.1.62 did.
Sorry but I am trying to give a detailed presentation of my issue.

Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
Just tried (like in CoFree's vid) JungleFlasher 0.0.43.
Dame thing as the last post i made. Serial Data is bad.
I tried this version mainly because someone on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/760832 stated that the JungleFlasher .26 was flawed and I thought I would give this a try.
nothing.
Oddly enough though on that afterdawn post one cat says:
"serial data bad means the information gathered over the serial connection was not good, if using jungle flasher it trys several times real quick and compares them, if they all didn't match then you get that error. keep trying if you get a couple reads with the same serial information then chances are it is good. steer clear of lots of FFFFFFF,777777777 or 00000000000. "
Now 4 times it checks and I see the same key and its not returned with all F,7 or 0's but looks as if it is actually reading the key consistently.
I am wondering if my initial backup of the 1st Dump i made with the partial Dummy.bis as only showing missing info, I wonder if its ok.
Please someone tell me what I should do next?
Thank you.

Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
Just found a cool 'Liteon Incomplete "drive Serial" - Tool Checker/patcher'
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php? ... 75326&st=0
Very smooth GUI and easy to use and edit your Optical,PCB Label #'s and your DVDKey and save it to a Dummy.bin
When I analyzed my Original Dummy.bin file that I used JungleFlasher .26 to dump (the one that said it had missing info but created it anyway) The DVDkey was good, but this tool said the OPT (optical) and PCB labels where incorrect or missing data in the Dummy.bin.
This tool allows you to edit in the correct OPT and PCB label numbers on your actual hardware and then save as a new Dummy.bin
When I then analyzed the new Dummy.bin (I still have all the originals backed-up) it did not pass on the OPT and PCB, it said it had too much missing data!
omg.......but the other 3 files seemed to all pass ok, just that dumb arss Dummy file.
I am still holding off on erasing and flashing this LiteOn drive.
Maybe one of you will have some good advice that I haven't tried yet.

i went to walmart and bought arcade yesterday...and try the same thing....i use Jungle Flasher I get the Key.bin, Identify.bin and Inquiry.bin, but when it comes to dumping the Dummy.bin I get this pop-up message: Loading Dummy.bin and Dummy.bin is missing some drive specific information.
Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
The very exact same thing here.
Like I painstakingly posted above, the only program so far that will give me all 3 of those files and a supposed incomplete Dummy.bin is JungleFlasher .0.1.26. It seems to work better at getting the Dump, but because of the Missing info message from the Dummy.bin I am worried about the other 3 files that JF.1.26 managed to dump with no errors shown.
That Program I linked to at the Xbox-scene site will check your Dummy file for the correct info.
I also replied to this post, the post had some valid concerns of mine, ie. not wanting to go through the Erasing/Flashing procedure with a partial Dummy.bin file and maybe bricking your drive.

Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
i got it to flash anyways with it still doing the same thing...
Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
the dummy file is good....just run it....it worked for me...
Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
i ran my dummy through dsdbfixer..it was all good till i got to find pcb serial data..it said that erroe on pcb serial data checkLPCB sn doesn't start with S4P8 but with S4P9...
Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
It flashed ok then huh? you flashed it to iXtreme 1.6 right?
Have you tested any 'backup' copies of your games yet?
Also can you play a DVD movie ok, not that I am too worried but i read somewhere that someone screwed up the Movie playing feature some how. I don't think that's the case with you though.
I used dsdbfixer on my Dummy.bin and as stated above in the posts even though I edited the correct Label serial numbers in, the OPT and PCB come back as saying "too much missing data" the Key and all else was fine though.
You think I should still use the Dump I made? the one with the partial Dummy.bin?

yeah i flash it by luck with ix1.6...i just ran the steps . it went ok....did the liteon erase....then i pressed write....put in my back up game in it...it played fine....went to wal-mart and got 4 xbox 360...so if anyone here in this website says anything different...(0h you are doing something) No i'm not....Come on 4 xbox360 the same thing....All were arcades......So yeah man just ran the first dummy you got...i would....i just did a older liteon and went fine..but these new ones dont know whats going on...
Re: dummy.bin file missing some drive specific info
Now this is my 2nd Arcade the first was mine and I bought it from GameStop in Lake City FL.
I am playing Ghost Busters on it as we speak (well not this min.) I flashed it using JungleFlasher 43 and iX1.51
It was flawless in the Dump and Flash. I made sure I saved that Dump too.......ok that sounds a little sick
This one was bought this Thursday at WalMart. Its a friends, I told him to get it at GameSpot because Walmart hardly ever has any in. He didn't want to go the extra 45miles and went to Walmart instead who said they actually had one in.
xXxnottaxXx who will probably comment on this post in a few, was wanting confirmation that he was not crazy. He says he bought 4 XBox360's from Walmart and had same issue. I too think somthing is up with eather what Walmart is getting or there is some new LiteOn Drive out, but thats not a real educated guess on my part.
Maybe seeing as the Arcade is the new Core models, maybe, just maybe because of Micro$oft's new Project Natal they have started making a slight change to the firmware to detect the iX mods and such.
I know that sounds a little DarkOps but hey its Micro$oft and this Xbox360 is not going away any time soon.
