Via Chipset and unknown flash chip?

I used Iprep V009, and Benq 1.6. I have a mobo that already has sata cables. I connected the first port to my 360 and tried flashing it but it keeps on saying unknown flash chip, and benofw.bin does not exist (sometimes).

I've read somewhere about requiring nforce or via chipset to flash, is that true and what would i need to get to complete my flashing with or without my current mobo.

Most of us use a VIA 6421A or L Sata Raid card. You can get one for around 14 bucks.

You can get them from ebay as well, but it's a little more hit and miss on there. I got one DOA from Hong Kong
