problem with 78....

Flashed my mates 78fk the other week (reconditioned box, just got it back for m$, new drive and mobo) with no problems at all with iXtreme 1.4 at x12....

He rang me this morning, saying he's now having problems reading all disks. Having had a quick play, it looks and sounds like the disc is being scratched as it's spinning...

I use (and always have) Infinity 360 and only ever had problems due to Split-Vid images. The games seemed fine 2 weeks ago, but now make their own mind up when they work (including originals)

The first step I guess is to restore and reflash to x8, but has anyone had this problem before or anyone have a solution?

BTW I know Verbs are better

Almost sounds like a problem with the new drive to me. Especially if its messing up disks. You may have to send it back to MS. or whoever refurbed it.

if it doing that with orig then its the laser hitting the disc
if it putting a ring artound the out side of the disc then that is just what it is
thats bad news man

flash back orig then see what happens
i bet it keeps doing it
