upgrading liteon to 1.6
hi guys...just wondering ....can i use jungle flasher to extract the key, identify and enquiry files....and also create the dummy.bin and also the hacked firmware 1.6 (ie lite_cfw.bin).........then use the dosflash method (ie l-o-eras command) to write ?...........as i prefer this method cos ive done a few liteons with this method only up to fimware 1.51.....i find the other jf methods cause the pc to freeze........so basically what im saying is when i click on "open target firmware" in jf .26 and if i select "ixtreme1.6" firmware.......then i click on " spoof source to target"....will this make the hacked firmware...and then i can go and finish it off in dosflash using the "erase" and "write" commands ?..........ta

Yip you can create the cfw with jungleflasher then use iprep to write it to drive. I had to do it this way last week after i bricked my lite-on when pc crashed.

the only resaon a liteon will freeze with jf is if you are using the via chipset....thats what causes the computer to freeze...trust me if you have a onboard sata it will work fine..

Click start, right click my computer, click manage, find your via card click disable, now go to x:\windows\system32\ and find viamraid.sys rename it to something, now go back to where you disabled your via card, and click enable. Reboot your comp.grandview wrote:what drivers...all my drivers are enabled even the via...i just use the onboard sata everytime
Now try flashing anything with your via card in jungle flasher, it wont freeze.

Try JungleFlasher v0.1.51 I have heard lots of people saying the new JF freezes even with disabled drivers.peacock wrote:yes but you still need to install the portIO drivers that come with the latest JF..i had these installed yet it still frooze...lolHaGGardSmurf wrote:Click start, right click my computer, click manage, find your via card click disable, now go to x:\windows\system32\ and find viamraid.sys rename it to something, now go back to where you disabled your via card, and click enable. when you use onboard sata with drivers for a light on it will sometimes freeze 50 percent of the time. I found that after erasing the drive do a intro to device twice and power on in off the drive in between before writing the firmware and it never freezes.
