HDMI and Componet

Post by cainhunpi »

Hey guys, I just noticed that you can't fit both the component cable and the Hdmi cable on your xbox.

Is there a mod that would allow me to fit them both on my xbox?

Thanks

First I don't know why you would. Second there is a component connector designed to fit with the hdmi but it's just audio.

Well I think the way lots of people do it is by using their component cable, and taking off that huge plastic part, then you can plug in the component cables, and hdmi.

I think I saw the audio only cables at an electronics store, like best buy or future shop. You can also probably find some on ebay.

I had the same problem. needed audio.

I saw one at dealextreme http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21210" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it is twelve dollars. read reviews before buying it.

Here is how i got around it

What i did as i wanted hdmi and my tv is the old version of HD (DVI, ) so think i bought a used mad katz cable multi platform for 5.99 at ebgames and i used this for the sound. I was able to plug it in as it was thin and the hdmi cable fit right below it. Also i had to get an adapter to go from hdmi to dvi, which i picked up for a couple dollars at monoprice.com. I think i got my hdmi cable there as well because it was way under 10 dollars.

I research a little and you can find tutorials that show you how to take apart your existing cable and cut it down or remove the bottom.

hope this helps.

The packaging is always a give away for these clones.

Anyways, a buddy of mine got banned and went out and bought a new box, and gave me his box since I may be able to fine a use for it, and the AV cables that he had were pretty skinny. If you plug them in, you still have quite a bit of room to plug in an HDMI cable. They are just like the picture in the link cofree posted (the av cables, its about the 4th pic)

So I know you can just buy the 'skinny' cables. They are made by M$ as well, it clearly says microsoft on the cables and has the sticker.
