Hello,
I made a slip up while flashing a liteon. I used JungleFlasher and I did not power on/off the connectivity kit when it tells you too. I did not powercycle the drive and accidentally hit liteon-erase. So now the liteon is locked up.

I’m following the liteon lock up video tutorial made by Cofree and I’m not sure what folder he is talking about at 7:13. I have the ixtreme 1.6 download but I don’t have any dos folders inside.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I once had a lite-on that froze on me... I did it with other tools from xbin.

Okay problem fixed. After doing a lot of googling for an ixtreme package with the dos folder, I finally lucked out. Followed the tutorial and everything worked perfect
.
I just like to say thank you to Cofree and everyone at this site! I can't count how many times I’ve found information from this site that’s saved my ass.
Is there a way that I can make a small donation to the site?

Subject: Lite-on Recover if it locked up after erase video
Hi GoFree,
I suffered the exact problem you described in yer video last nigh, and am eternally thankful for your excellent video. There is one slight problem though, at around 7:15 you mention the "iXtreme dos folder" and I cant find it anywhere. Can you give me a pointer to where I might find it and possibly a list of the files therein. I downloaded LiteOn_iXtreme_v1.51 fom xbins untill I got banned and there is NO dos folder, just a bin file. Other tutorials mention "flit 1234...".....what does flit mean?...its in no dictionary I can find?
I was following your jungleflaser video at the time it happened and just got confused as to where to power off and on. By the time I figured it out the damage was done and the rest is history. Its great you have a recovery video, but I have had a lot of grief from iprep with it rejecting the firmwares as invalid. Also there is Iprep101. Iprep v6 and Iprep v7,and they are significantly different. Which is the best one to use for recovery. Great work folks and thanks for the videos.

Re: Liteon Lockup, Trying to follow Cofree tutorial
Hi tbone432,
I did a lot of searching last night and believe or not was able to find the dos folder in a 1.5 pack from pirate bay. Here is a link
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4597903 ... TeamJungle" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I followed every step in Cofree’s tutorial and with the above dos folder was successful in unlocking my liteon.

Re: Liteon Lockup, Trying to follow Cofree tutorial
Cheers Bobarooski,
I have spent the day trying to use the other tutorial using iPrep, but its a bit of a disaster. The instructions are so short on detail as to be useless. For the want of a couple of extra words I have wasted hours and still have a dead drive. I gave up altogether about an hour ago, but will probably try the other tutorial again now that you have found the elusive DOS folder.
Thanks for the heads up, I really appreciate it as I am fed up after 18 hours of one error after another.

Re: Liteon Lockup, Trying to follow Cofree tutorial
That worked out fine in the end folks........give yer selves a round of applause!, and thanks a lot for all the help. In the end I made the dos flash usb drive and booted to it. I kinda followed "gofree" with a bit of "board winner" and "bobaruskis" dos files
thrown in for good measure. On booting to the usb it took 3 attempts for the PC to see the liteon drive, it was no. 4 in my case as I unplugged my own dvds and hard disks to simplify matters. Hope I did not pee yall off to much with the questions but things did get pretty desperate at 4.30am, and thar wuz talk of "a hangin" too.
Thanks again.
