Lite-on Recover if it locked up after erase video
Lite-on Recover if it locked up after erase video
Hi GoFree,
I suffered the exact problem you described in yer video last nigh, and am eternally thankful for your excellent video. There is one slight problem though, at around 7:15 you mention the "iXtreme dos folder" and I cant find it anywhere. Can you give me a pointer to where I might find it and possibly a list of the files therein. I downloaded LiteOn_iXtreme_v1.51 fom xbins untill I got banned and there is NO dos folder, just a bin file. Other tutorials mention "flit 1234...".....what does flit mean?...its in no dictionary I can find?
I was following your jungleflaser video at the time it happened and just got confused as to where to power off and on. By the time I figured it out the damage was done and the rest is history. Its great you have a recovery video, but I have had a lot of grief from iprep with it rejecting the firmwares as invalid. Also there is Iprep101. Iprep v6 and Iprep v7,and they are significantly different. Which is the best one to use for recovery. Great work folks and thanks for the videos.

Yes, I have all the files up to the switch off/on point, I even have "Liteon_cfw".....but between iprep v6,Iprep101,iprepv9,junglefasher in all its versions, iextreme in multiple versions, I cant find the dos files required to complete the creation of the bootable usb flas drive. I just got off Binsearch, and NZB Matrix, and still no DOS iextreme. I googled it untill my fingers bled......still no ixtreme package with the dos folder.

You will need to eject the tray if you have closed it see below.
You will need to use iprep to flash the firmware back.
Making your new firmware.
open jungle flasher and.
1. select load source firmware
2. yes to load ixtreme
3. click manual spoofing
4. click load key.bin (select your key.bin)
5. click load inquiry.bin (select your inquiry.bin)
6. click ok
7. click save to file
8. save as litcfw.bin
Now save this to iprep usb drive folder Backup\1234567\12345
you may need to make the folder 1234567 and then inside that folder create the folder 12345 save the litcfw.bin in there.
opening tray follow pic below then.....
Once you can open the tray pull the tray out fully and push half way back in. Now, hook it up to the PC using
Connectivity Kit and Sata, power on and flash your new firmware.
Flashing your liteon in iprep.
Start iprep and do the following:
1. flit 1234567 12345
2. follow instructions (power cycle drive etc)
3. select W to write firmware
4. type when asked litcfw.bin
Thats it youre flashed.

What version of Jungle Flasher, I tried following this in desperation at 4.30am last night and was fine until I got to "1 flit 123456 ....". I then spent an hour looking to find out what "flit" means. Google returned a list of irrelevancies about quick, .....and I gave up and went to bed.

Re: Lite-on Recover if it locked up after erase video
Ok, i have made litcfw.bin and have saved it to the Backup/1234567/12345/folder on a 1gig flash drive. Now what version of Iprep do I use....the one I have is 0.8.9 and slows down my whole pc when I turn on the connectivity kit. That aside how do I use it to flash the drive?

use iprep 9 from here download/file.php?id=614" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you can use any ixtreme firmware to create the bootable usb device
then boot into iprep then flit 1234567 12345
i have already given you a step by step guide if you read it you will be good

Re: Lite-on Recover if it locked up after erase video
That worked out fine in the end folks........give yer selves a round of applause!, and thanks a lot for all the help. In the end I made the dos flash usb drive and booted to it. I kinda followed "gofree" with a bit of "board winner" and "bobaruskis" dos files
thrown in for good measure. On booting to the usb it took 3 attempts for the PC to see the liteon drive, it was no. 4 in my case as I unplugged my own dvds and hard disks to simplify matters. Hope I did not pee yall off to much with the questions but things did get pretty desperate at 4.30am,......... and thar wuz talk of "a hangin" too.
Thanks again.
