i had some questions i wanted to get off my head before i do my first lite on....Do i have to disable my via 6421 and how would my computer be setup i just dont want to make a mistake and lock the drive and by the way which is a better program for lite on thanks for anyones help

i would say use Iprep if you havent done it b4, much easier and takes about 10mins provideing you have all the right stuff.

You will need Iprep 9 download/file.php?id=614" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

also you will need to have some kind off connectivity kit if your only going to do your lite-on and going to use iprep you can get your self a ck3 lite which that comes with the rs232 cable needed.

You should uninstall the manufacturers drivers or your pc may hang-up. if you use iprep then this shouldn't be a problem (you dont boot the windows os) I believe it has drivers built in.

Jungle flasher messed up my liteon a bit, but most people find it works fine for them. it's not a big deal and can be quite an easy fix, corfree has a great tut for that

If your using iprep, there is no real reason to disable the via card. Its probably easier to use iprep, for most first time flashers, their setup is not all there, so for the first drive or 2, you need to kind of experiment... IE: Drivers disabled, finding your port, deciding what program etc...

In your case since your doing a lite-on its easier to use iprep, it has no driver/lite-on freezing probs, so you should go with that.
