The story so far:
Flashed 2 360s successfully, now trying an ms25.
after typing dsam 1234567 12345 i get this error:
error fail to identify flash type
was pretty sure nothing wrong with my setup so decided to look at the drive, someone has tryed to fit a modchip because the glue has been scraped of the eprom and some of the points have excess solder on them, my m8 bought this second hand..mmm
does anyone have a circuit diagram or can they explain what happens electronically when we issue the command dsam.
is there a Chip Select signal, output enable signal, how many data lines are we addressing the chip.
original games work fine.
Please any body out there really know there stuff
thanks in advance..
Can someone explain whats happening electronically

Re: error fail to identify flash type
It sounds as if a trace has been cut or a pad lifted on the circuit board so the commands that the dsam sends isn't making it to the flash chip and therefore can't be identified. I'm not sure how you would go about finding it as some of those traces are very minuscule is size, or at least they are to me anyway. I would check around the flash chip to for a lifted or separated leg to.
