can i use these drives to backup my games?

my drives are TSSTCORP CDDVD SH-S223L SB01 AND PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-116D...I KNOW you can use SH-D163B.....SH-D162D....AND SO ON.....I KNOW THE FORM SO PLEASE DONT DIRECT ME TO IT....HaGGardSmurf is talking about what good drives...i see that they are talking about Pioneer 111d drives and Lg drives...so if i can use these drive...do i have to have firmware on them to backup my games...and how do i use xbc?

You can use the drives you got to burn backup games without having to get any firmware. I have the TSSTCORP CDDVD SH-S223L SB01 drive also and it works fine for me .

what program are you using? i cant seem to get xbc to work on my computer..when i download it...i get the xbc, a readme file and frogaspi.dll and it says that nero api is not available...what im i doing wrong?

If i've read your first post correctly then no you can't use them for backing up games just for burning them. As you've said you'll need a kreon flashed sammy or toshiba variant or use your 360 drive if it's flashed with the 1.6 ixtreme.

i just bought the SH-D162D drive...where do i get the firmware for the drive...xbins wont let me connect...so where else can i get the firmware?

You could try google searching for kreon sh-d162d, but I wouldn't get it from anywhere besides xbins.

Keep trying xbins until you get through. It's really the best and imho the only place to get it.

for last couple of days xbins has said that i have been banned for 2440 mins...i dont know why..i dont ever go on it..

That happens from time to time. There ban system isn't 100% I don't think. It always errors in favor of a ban. Just give it a couple of days and try it again.
