Common problem with the BenQ drives?

Post by Duggers89 »

I used the video tutorial found here in the forum, using Iprep v9.

The process of it all went well, no problems...
...but when I turn the actual xbox on with the firmware in, I instantly got the E-74 error.

Anyone have any clues on what to do?

Gah damn.
There's nothing that can be done to fix it?

Cheers anyway, nice to know I'm not the only one.

You could just simply send it back to M$, if the seals are in good and look ok youll be fine, they will fix it for free. the most that will happen is they send it back un fixed.

takes about 10days

I've done my best to try and make the warranty sticker look intact...
...but failed :(

I'll give it a shot. Like you said, if all goes wrong, they'll just send it back.

Cheers! :D

I tryed the xclamp fix on my other xbox...
...didn't work.

However, if MS won't fix this for me, I've got nothing to lose. So I'll probably end up trying on this one.

Will just have to buy a new xbox and try the flash thing again, hoping that it doesn't happen again. :P

If your not confident with your warranty sticker, you can buy a new one from ebay... They're usually like $15.00

Wow...
...you can?

If all else fails then, I may have to invest in one of those. It'll be a whole lot cheaper than bloody pay how much for a brand new console? :D
Thanks!

Ok....I get it..you got the E-74 and that sucks...but it had nada to do with the flash.....I am repeating this to drive it home...E-74 has nothing to do with flashing your drive....don't be afraid in the future to flash your drive.

Return this piece to m$ and get on with it...

If you have any questions about this post them up.
