Re: Lite-on 74850C
Give us the steps that your doing up to the point it tells you invalid key. There is more than one thing that can cause that. With the 7xxx series, you have to use a probe to get the key, or solder r707. That being the case, make sure you have specified the correct com port for the serial communication. Also, check to make sure the correct sata port is being used and is correctly specified in iprep as well.

Re: Lite-on 74850C
well i get iprep loaded up turn on my ck3 eject tray turn off ck3 close tray half way turn ck3 back on n put probe in r707 hit enter iprep trys to read key but they all say invalid...im bout 97% sure my set up is right considering i use that pc to falsh drives n havnt touched anything since my last flash.. im wondering if maybe getting the tray in the right position may b a lil trickier wit these then original lite-ons ????
Re: Lite-on 74850C
Yeah, tray position if not right will keep the drive from going into vendor mode but it sounds more like a communication problem between the computer and the drive to me. Has this drive been flashed before?

I am prob going to get some S@#$ for this...... but you might want to try a different version of JF as I use version .26 for Lite-on's it does not have all of the safeguards in place though make sure you back up the key.
Also I don't go to 75% on the tray I am more like 50%.

Re: Lite-on 74850C
Well the 74850C are the first lite-on's released.
They have 2 F/W revisions A0A1 and A0A2 both are handled the same way. In the stock A0A2 FW, it identifies itself as A0A1.
The lite-on's that are handled differently are the 8 series (ie: Lite-on 8xxxxx)
