83850c and Jungleflasher 1.66 PDF

Thats a pretty good question actually, does the drive need to be half open to erase and write to it?

Once you get your dummy.bin, flashing the 83850c is just like flashing the 7xxx series. Tray half open, lite-on erase, etc. etc. there are plenty of tuts on that part. Come on guys.

I was just curious because when a lite on has locked up on me i never leave it half open when i finish off the flashing in dos. thanks sadalius

well yeah, when its locked up from an erase, it won't matter because the fw is erased. Tray position doesn't make a difference at that point. But under normal circumstances where you have a working jungleflasher setup and there are no lockups, tray position matters until you get the drive in vendor mode and erased.

No. This is why they tell you to spoof it into a spare drive before hand. If you flash it and the key isn't valid, the whole 360 becomes a DVD player.

That has happened to me. By spare drive do you mean any drive or Lite-on only? Thanks for your help.

You can use any spare 360 drive. You just have to manually spoof it if its a different kind, like a samsung, benq or lite-on 7xxx series
