I need a test drive for modding what do you recommend?
What kind of drive would you recommend as a test drive to test and see if a hacked firmware is working before I install it on the original drive.

the easiest way would be, is to have the same model drive thats in the abox that way you wont need to do any spoofing

Any drive but a hitachi. For a beginner they are probably the worst drives to use.
They are a pain even for experienced modders...
