dumping the 79

trying to sort this drive can get mode b , can get it unlocked but every time i try to dump the drive i get failed have tried doing it with via drivers installed and with the drivers uninstalled same prob every time upload failed changed the sata cables twice is there another way i have tried three different versions of j/f i have just tried the latest version and the new tutorial video still no luck getting ready to throw out window any help thanks

what transfer method are you using?if memory serves me right,use either ram upload with winapi or mode select.do not use classic dump

Have you tried firmware toolbox?? And have you used 79 unlock?

It might be worth trying onboard sata if you can't get it to work, they are sometimes fussy with VIA cards... i can get hitachi's in mode b and unlocked with JF, but I can never get a dump no matter what method I use so I have to use FWT.

thanks for reply youcan only use the ram upload so its doing everything right just the dump side wont work ill try firmware toolbox let you know how it went thanks again

some hitachi's are a pain in the butt,but 79 i did went fine.
