Hitachi 78 problems after I put it back together

So jf was lagging on my vista 32 system. After hours of wrestling with a specific hitachi I finally flashed it successfully. After flashing it I tested it and it wasnt reading. Popped the dvd cover off...bad laser. I swap it with a good hitachi laser.

After its all back together I test it, and the rail that the white part with the spring on it keeps moving towards the forward. I have the spring on correctly and it just keeps rotating and clicking.

If any one can help Id really appreciate it. I have checked the assembly multiple times and everything looks good. I even changed the bands on the laser with another hitachi laser band.

there are some many thing it could be at this point
after all you have done

my question would be was it reading disc before you flashed it
but
at this point its a mute question

Did it read originals, or nothing at all??

It would be worth spoofing another drive in, just to confirm the key you dumped before the flash is good...
