Sky Player, Sky’s online TV service, will be introduced to Xbox Live in October, Microsoft has confirmed.
Announced in May, the service will allow Xbox 360 owners to access a range of channels and programmes to view live or on-demand.
While details of the full channel line-up and pricing are still to be confirmed, users are expected to be able to access movies and entertainment shows, as well as documentaries and programming dedicated to kids, music, the arts and sport, including Premier League football and Test Match cricket.
Microsoft Ireland told VG247 that the service will go live next month, while Digital Spy reports that it will be introduced alongside access to popular social networking sites Facebook and Twitter via a dashboard update.
Content will initially be offered in standard definition only, and won’t be recordable.
