jungle flasher and iPrep with liteon 83850C

Post by killthealiens »

I've been having trouble with both Jungle flasher and iPrep, I don't know if I'm doing some wrong, but that doesn't seem like it. I tried Jungle flasher first, and I was able to extract the 3 .bins before the whole program froze on me which is a problem a lot of people have been having. So I tried iPrep 10.7, I make a bootable USB drive, but it gives me an error "remove disks and other media, press any key to restart". This is another problem a lot of people have been running into. I also tried the iprep 0.9 with updated definition, but that too gave me the error. So what can I do now? Are there any other ways to hack a liteon 83850C? Thanks.

Try a smaller usb stick (anything under 2 gb is recommended) and also try booting it with FAT and FAT32 as your motherboard may only support one or the other. My old board would only boot with fat formatted sticks.

I'll try that, and it's a 256mb drive.

edit: Still getting the same error.

In that case i'd try formatting it in the other fat. Give it a whirl and keep us posted.

Edit. Have you got another stick you could try? You can also use a psp in usb mode or an sd card in a reader if you have one kicking about. Also worth going into your bios and checking legacy mode is enabled.

Well I would think this one would work. DosFlash was able to make it into a bootable USB, and it worked fine.

Legacy Devices are enabled.

I'm using the VIA 6421 PCI card if that's what you're talking about.
