83850C problems with JF 0.1.66

Hey all. Here's the scoop:

This is my first time flashing the 360. I have an 83850C drive connected directly to the sata ports on my motherboard. I am following this terrific tutorial:

I put the drive into the half open position by following these steps (like on the video and other places I have read):

-Eject the tray
-Unplug power to DVD drive
-Push in halfway
-Plug power back in

This appears to work perfectly. I open JF, and see my drive with F/W Rev 8385. I click on LO83Info, and it pops up to move to half open, I click OK. Second pop up says to put it into full open, so I do and press OK.

Then, I get this error message every single time:

LO83info extraction Failed!

I have never gotten to save the file or anything, it just doesn't work. I have tried manually moving the tray out by opening it up, like in one tutorial. I have tried literally dozens of times over the last 3 hours. I have searched the internets for this error, and people keep saying to do the half open trick, but I am!

Hold tight man this might be one of the new ones. What is the date on it and the firmware type?

Did you just send this xbox in for repairs recently? (If you just got it back a week or 2 ago its likely you have the new FW on your drive, if you sent it in and got it back about a month ago, then you have a hackable FW)

i have the same problem the very same thing has happend to me the date on mine is aug09 ps xbox360 is new

think you should try iPrep. . .

Hmm this could be 1 of the newer drives man
Try using iprep thike the others said
If u cant get it to dump your just gunna have to sit tight until we find a soloution man
