Well I though i flashed my benq probally using the USB method and Iprep
, i created the backups then wrote all found banks no error messages then turned off the 360.
Well my problem is I have no way of telling if I have a good flash since none of my backups work
I can play all the original copies with no problem but after I burn the backup ISO with image burn
using at 2.4 speed (and yes I am using the correct layer break) I either see a plain screen with a big XBOX 360 on the
screen , or it gives the message you get when you but an xbox360 dvd into a pc.
Do I have any other options apart from re-flashing the drive over ? would I have to restore the orginal firmware first to do that ?
thanks in advance

there is no usb method on a benq
not sure what you are talking about there
if it will play orig game sthen you are fine you just need to flash it.
go by this video guide

Re: Problems with a "Flashed Benq" - backups wont play
thanks for the fast response I used version 10.1 and verifed firmware :
Team HyperX Presents IXtreme 1.6 firmware for Benq, Samsung and Liteon drives
any tips on how to re-flash? do I have to re-flash first with my orginal firmware and the flash the 1.6 again or can I just
over write with the 1.6 right now using the same usb ?
thanks
What I meant was the boot from USB iprep method , which is what I did in the first place

Re: Problems with a "Flashed Benq" - backups wont play
QUuestion: is it save to flash over a bad flash ? , or would my serial numbers get screwed up?
I guess my question is I want to restore to the orginal firmware first if it was already flashed and flashed wrong, otherwise I guess I would just re-flash

Re: Problems with a "Flashed Benq" - backups wont play
if it will play orig games
its not flashed wrong
its flashed or its not flashed
but
if it was a bad flash then it would not play orig games at all.
on a sam or a benq dvd drive when you do want to update you firmware you ask like the dvd drive is stock.
and
do all the steps over
build the usb flash
dump the drive
and flash the drive as long as your key is green success and looks good.
are you sure your back ups are good
maybe try a friends backup that you know work
and/or try one of yours on his system.
if your flashing went like the video
then i would say its your backups that the trouble

Re: Problems with a "Flashed Benq" - backups wont play
everything you said is exactly how my flash went and I know for a fact I did see iprep writing all four banks so the firmware must be on my xbox360 and at the end it had the green success.
You are probably on to something regarding my backups, I'm having a friend bring some backups this weekend before I do anything else.
none of them are wave 3 but if they work I'll at least know it was a problem with my backups. I guess I need to join the bandwagon and replace these TDK coasters with verbs /sigh
thanks man

I think if your benq has successfully been flashed you may need to do a pot calibration.
