Team Xecuter hard drive adapter V2
does anyone know which way it plugs in?
i know if you plug it in the wrong way it will cook the hard drive.

There is only 1 way it can plug in:

Do you see the little tab on the top left in that picture? Its not flush with the rest of the adapter, so if you try and plug the adapter in backwards, you will not be able to plug that side in. When you plug it in the right way, that lip clears the front of the HDD, and you are able to plug it in.
To help you picture it a bit better look at this:

Imagine trying to plug that in backwards, it wont work. Exact same thing with the hdd adapter v2

You can put any size HDD in, but your console will only use up to 120gb, or 60gb, or 20gb depending on the HDDS.bin you have on the hard drive.
I think the most popular drive is the Western Digital Scorpio WD1200BEVS (120 GB)

Re: Team Xecuter hard drive adapter V2
The MF2 edition is not out yet, so its impossible to have the 250gb hdds.bin from it. Its likely that it will be floating around on the internet when its released.
The only thing is, as far as I know the console is 'hard coded' to only see up to 120 gb, if you edit your HDDS.bin to anything bigger it will not work, so I assume if you were to get a hold of this 250 gb HDDS.bin and put it on your 250 gb HDD and try it on your console it will not work. I think this is part of the reason they will not sell the HDD separate, as it will only work with the CoD xbox's

Re: Team Xecuter hard drive adapter V2
So my WD2500bevt is useless then?
I was under the impression that an update would mean an original console could use a 250gb hdd?

Re: Team Xecuter hard drive adapter V2
I'm not completely sure to be honest. I know there is some kind of protection that only lets the console see and use 20, 60, or 120. Im not sure if it is part of the FW, or if its 'hard coded' into the console. It would make much more sense to be software, but M$ doesnt make sense all the time...lilrevuk wrote:So my WD2500bevt is useless then?

I just figured thats the reason for not selling the 250GB HDD Separate, because normal console's will not be able to use it.
Re: Team Xecuter hard drive adapter V2
I have a 250GB HDD in my 360 and it works fine. Bought it on eBay, stuck on, fired it up....BINGO! It works! It has to be formated in FATX(?) to be usable in the XBOX. AFAIK, you CANNOT 'copy' the small drive to the large drive... There is an application for transfering files/saves/games from one drive to another.... http://us.codejunkies.com/support/artic ... cle_id=272. You will need to 1) Open the HDD enclosure and hook the drive via SATA to your PC mainboard, or, 2) buy a transfer adapter that connects via the HDD enclosures existing connector. Two of these adapters are available here:
1) http://www.totalconsole.com/servlet/the ... USB/Detail
2) http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/XB36 ... 00191.aspx
There are others, notably one from Xecutor, but hard to get on it's own as they usually are bundled with other firmware tools for DVD drive replacement.
Once you've got your drive hooked to the PC and the Xplorer360 instaled, reference this handy article (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive ... indows.cfm) as well as the .pdf included with the Xplorer360 application itself.
Hopefully this is good news for you or anyone else looking for more space for DLC and Media!
HAPPY GAMING!
