Hello,
I finally got jungle flasher to pick up my lite on 74850. I went through the jungle flasher manual and even had to open the disk drive to fix the laser and PCB codes...
After all that I got to Lite-on Erase, after clicking on it it says its successfully erased my firmware, but my xbox turned off after it said this and the drive bay closed. I got the drive back to half open, but without firmware I cannot do the half open tray thing as the button does not work (i had to manually open it).
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I was flashing from 1.4 to 1.6 and still have all the files that were read before erase.
I got jungle flasher to pick up the drive after a few trys..
Info From Jungleflasher:
Drive properties says "Drive in Vendor Mode!"
Flash Chip Properties
Vendor ID: 0xC2
Device ID: 0x11
Name: MXIC(MX25l2005)
Size: 262144 Bytes
Type: serial flash with status 0x72
when i click write I get the message: "Drive returned Invalid Status!"
Not sure if any of this info is useful, but Im trying to provide all I can to fix this drive.
Thank you,
Jonny

Your drive is not broken its just locked, take a look at this http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=3226" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can find the files he uses in xbins, look for the ixtreme 1.5 and the files are in there
If you need any assistance on doing the process of unlocking your drive just ask for help

Thank you, that was the best reply I got over 2 forums. I really though it was bricked. using everything he said, but putting 1.6 firmware on the iprep usb pen, worked perfectly. I just tested my console on halo 3 and its working great.louis09 wrote:Your drive is not broken its just locked, take a look at this http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=3226" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Lite on Drive flashing failed, possibly bricked :(
one last question before I go.
I done that flashing on my lite on drive (and repairs) without and kind of kit. I used the xbox to power the drive and it didnt require a connection kit because it was already flashed with 1.4 (friend done it for me).
anyway.. I was thinking about buying a connection kit I was looking at the http://www.kanection.co.uk/product.php/ ... kit-v3-pro. I wanted to know if I got that, would I also need a probe to do lite on drives, or would that kit be enough for any drive?
As always, Thank you for your time

its a good kit as I use one as well . you just need the probe for retrieving liteon 7450 drive keys otherwise the kit is fine for all drives

as logicwatch said, the probe is for flashing the 7000 series lite on drives, the 8000 series do not require the probe. I advise you in getting on because you will find that there are more 7000 series lite ons floating about as the 8000 series have only just hit the market.
