Re: Benq Drive Bricked? HELP PLEASE!!!!
Well there's two sides to this.
I'll start with the good: if you were able to read the drive and obtain the OFW then you can buy a new drive and spoof it.
The bad: If you weren't able to get the OFW, then it's game over. Sorry.
Tell us what you were doing before the power went off. The steps you took.

Re: Benq Drive Bricked? HELP PLEASE!!!!
it was in the middle of "writing bank 0" with 5 dots. it stayed there for a while (like 12-20 mins) an the power went off in my building, thus making a bad write. every time i connect the drive to my comp, the comp freezes and i cant move my mouse. so how am i suppose to access iprep, doflasher, jungleflasher, etc

There is a method to recover a benq from a bad flash, wait for one off the other guys who have done this.

I think you should try 360 mod disc, It might work. It might fix it all together, or at least get your drive to be detected in jungleflasher. Do not forget every 360 will automatically turn off after 5 minutes, unless you have the video cables hooked up to your tv.

There is a link to the mod disc in the description. I had to use this disc since I do not have a usb stick.
something must be wrong if it was writing the bank for 20 minutes. It should not take long at all, less that 30 seconds.

i dont see how the mod disc could fix this
it was doing a write
there is no key in the drive so
there is no way mod disc will fix this.
please read over all the post before you offer support

what i would try is a benq recover.as long as you have a copyof your key and orig firmware
we should be able to get this going.
if you dont have a copy of your key then its game over man sorry.
but you have to be doing something wrong.budokai666 wrote:every time i connect the drive to my comp, the comp freezes and i cant move my mouse
you should not even have the drive hook up to the pc using iprep when in windows
and of course there is no mouse in DOS.
after you boot on the flash in dos is when you hook up the drive to the pc.
but
any way
here is what you have to try to fix this.
as long as you have a good back-up of your ofw.
do this
make a iprep boot flash with RHPG Iprep v009
in the backup folder make a folder named 1234567
then in that folder make a folder named 12345
in there put the firmware you want to flash in(a copy of your orig firmware). It needs to renamed to ' bencfw.bin "
with out the " " of course
this would be a copy of your orig firmware that you rename.
then just flash it in like normal
boot on the flash and run the flash command
fben 1234567 12345
that will flash in a copy of your orig firmware.

Re: Benq Drive Bricked? HELP PLEASE!!!!
I was under the impression he had the key from his benq since he was doing the write. jf always prompts to save the key. I did not mean to give bad advice. there is really no reason for 360 mod disc not to work, i think he might not have entered the correct sata port. however, i believe his computer may not be compatible, since he is having so many problems flashing. if you can get 360 mod disc to work, you will need to go into jungleflasher to finish flashing the drive.
or
if want iprep it work. you have to go into your bios and enable usb booting, and change the boot order. i would not recommend a floppy disc. they fail often.
i just recently joined this site, so you may want to disregard my advise. I am a nobody here....

From there your drive will be stock, then make sure the power isnt going to go out, and open tray half way, benq unlock, read, write, outro, and your done.CoFree wrote:do this

Re: Benq Drive Bricked? HELP PLEASE!!!!
any that will open v15.1 should work
or
you can update the def file in iprep and it will load the v1.6 firmware.
he has a drive that does not have firmware on it at all(at this point)
when you boot on the mod disc
it dumps the drive
builds the hack firmware
and flashes it in.
but
the problem is
it cant build the hacked firmware (and work) because there is no key.
so at this point there just is no way for mod disc to get his key and flash his drive and it work.
