cannot get benq into vendor mode

Post by fithwill »

ok, first off I have flashed at least 7 benq drives with ease, but this one seems to have an unknown problem. i have tried jungle flasher, dosflash32, and iprep using cofree's tuts and multiple others, all returning vendor mode failed. the drive is stock, the drive will not read disc and i just need the ofw so i can get the key to spoof/flash another drive. since this problem has started i have flashed two other benq drives with no problem so i do not think it has anything to do with my set up. I have also had a benq drive freeze while flashing and was able to recover this drive with dosflash32 very easily, but this drive just does not want to be dumped. i have had problems flashing other drives but never a benq could it be locked up? is there any way to get the keys off of the drive?

well is it a benq or a lite=on
just to be sure

will it play orig games and or a dvd movie
if it will only play a dvd movie then its not stock

if it is a benq and will play a orig game
then man
you have me there
i have not had any trouble with a benq dvd drive in a long time.

if you have flash that many then you have a understanding of how the thing should work
im not sure what i can offer

maybe try a different pc just for kicks.

im sure its a benq shows up in jf as name vad6038-64930c
im 99% sure its stock broke seal myself, owner knows nothing about modding
drive stopped reading any disc games or movies
as soon as i put disc in it says open tray, does not show as reading first. (tried pot tweak)
all that aside is there any way possible to swap chips and then dump from another drive
I am a professional in repairing pcb (circuit boards) so this would be an easy task for me if it is possible?

well you could move the chip i guess
but
i dont think it would do any good

damn it sounds like the laser and pcb are having trouble

the laser dont have to work to get a dump of the chip

when the drive is in the console and you turn it on
what does the console do
is there a error code of any kind

when the drive is in the console and i turn it on it seems to be working fine no errors at all. it says open tray as usual. i can do this with eject button or remote, then i put disc in sounds like its just about to spin up then stops immediately as if it did not even detect a disc, and then says open tray. this is with original games and movies.

well the laser being bad is part of that
after it spins up if it dont see a disc it will stop.
but if here was a bad flash or no firmware in the drive it should error
damn man
i just dont know

i would try to get a different benq and make sure your setup is still working
thats the only thing i can think of.

You may want to try a different sata cable. sometimes when this happens to me, i use the small sata cable that came with the xbox. its a tight squeeze but its worth a shot.
