iPrep 10.7 failed to flash on BenQ VAD6038

Post by jrawl004 »

Having a huge problem and need you help. I followed you tut to the T. Benq VAD6038. I got to the end and iPrep stopped when it started to write the custom firmware. Now when I try to reflash I get DataSum: 0000
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

ERROR

Wisely Loves Lan String Missing.

What do I need to do in order to flash it to the CFW or back to the OFW. I have the backup still with the key.

I am glad you got the drive sorted, but this won't help anyone else who has this problem. These types of problems should be resolved on the thread so that it gives people a chance to search the forum and find a resolution with out having to pm someone. That's why RHPG exists, to help anyone and everyone.

I truly hope djshauny or jrawl004 are still hanging around because I have exactly the same problem. My Benq hung before erasing, but now I get the "wisely loves lan string missing" error each time I try to flash using iPrep 10.7 and iExtreme 1.61. The drive does not respond to eject.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind, I fixed it. In my case, I had a good backup of the orig firmware, so I read in another post that you could run "C:\ben XXXXXXX XXXXX w" and it would skip trying to backup the firmware and go straight into erasing the drive and then flashing it with the new firmware. Everything went fine after that.
