Removed drive spoofed hitachi from elite because of laser replaced with benq drive brand new played fifa 10 turned off drive played later all i get is open tray on back ups and originals put hitachi back in with new laser still getting open tray,any soloutions to this problem?

Have you taken off the solder bead before swapping the lasers? When you buy a new laser there is an anti static solder bead on it.

Thanks for the reply i opened up the drive seems as though the laser was sticking
slid it up and down the tracks cleaned the laser,then everyting seems ok now.it was a brand new drive.

You may want to use some lube on the rails. I had a lite-on come back to me with this problem, I repositioned the laser, lubed it and, he has had no problems with the laser since.
