I haven't flashed my original ms25 drive in a long time, and don't remember if I have to do anything different than with a ms28. Watched the ms28 video tutorial with iprep posted here, so am I fine using those steps or is there something different I have to do?

Nah nothing has changed with that drive. Follow the tut and it should be fine.
