Lil Help please

Post by Dalthalas »

I'm not sure where to post this so im just gonna drop it here sorry

SO, I've spent the last 7 hours trying to flash my firmware on my vista desktop but eventually i found out that it wasn't possible due to driver compatibility issues; so I ended up loading xp onto my other harddrive and now I'm a bit further but I'm having some more issues, I get to the point where I can read my drive get the key, inquiry, identify and Dummy. But when I try and mount the firmware my jungle flasher crashes, iprep doesn't recognize the firmware files as firmware files and also ck3tool ends up screwing up also with some sort of error.

DosFlash32 or 16 don't work it tells me that it cannot detect the port but if I was able to obtain my key with jungle flasher whats going on ?

Basically when I mount the firmware jungleflasher crashes without an error, I have framework 2.0 so thats fine

Error Can't open file ix16-liteon.bin

hahaha so i flashed my dvd drive and now it doesn't work ****,,... oh well is there anyplace i can buy a new one btw do i need this "VIA" card to do this? could that be why I had this problem?

Am I screwed or can I still blank flash my drive through dos using L-O-eras.exe?

i would say your issue was sata compatability in dos flash. With your drive if its ejectin or responding to anythin we call that locked up.

yeah I would strongly advise you get he via 6421 card will make things a whole world easier.

Ok, so I bought my VIA 6421A and now my other computer will not read the firmware from IPREP when trying to mount it; also I installed framework 2.0 could it be some sort of other problem?

I tried the guide above and basically I got to the point where it would send the MTK to my drive and It would not be able to detect my drive so I'm not really sure what to do. My drive is not detected in Jungle flasher nor is it detected in anything else and my VIA6421A has the correct drivers.

Cofree has a video tutorial on it, and commando has a text tutorial on it.
