Passkey 79 for sale

I bought this from an online retailer from Canada. I was expecting to get stuck with a Hitachi 79 in a relatively new but used 360 that I recently bought and bought the passkey just in case I might need it. Turns out that my drive is a BenQ and I've flashed it successfully.

I don't need the Passkey 79 anymore. Offering it at a discounted price to anyone that needs it. This is for flashing the Hitachi 79 (which cannot be soft modded without a Passkey chip).

Do you mean that with this passkey you can flash a Hitachi V79 drive? How does that work?

I think in simple terms, 79 is the same drive as 78 but doesn't have the commands on the flash chip to dump/flash. This is what the passkey contains (I think)...

Thats correct. In fact, once you get the passkey installed on the 79, the original firmware that it gets flashed with is just a modified v78 firmware that was scaled down to fit the flash chip and labeled as a 79 fw. Now they have an actual hacked 79 fw.

I currently have 2 360s, both with V79s. I'm looking to buy a BenQ Premium 360. Do you think I should keep the V79 units and buy this passkey to flash them?

So in order to use the passkey, you'd need to do soldering? Basically forget trying to mod a V79?

Not just soldering, very minute soldering. Best left to the experts. Believe me if it was easy there are several people on this forum that would probably do it.

Man I couldn't even solder a modchip in my XBOX1... I went solder-less lol. If I had a small enough solder iron I wouldn't mind working on a donor box...
