Activte.iso will not work as shown

I've followed to tutorial I found on this site exactly, and activate.iso simply will not boot Wave 4 games for me. I have a Liteon drive (the older version) on this console, and have done this:

I procured the Activate.iso file

I then opened imgburn, and went to my settings, changing them to calculate the optimal layer break

Then I click to burn, and hit yes to both questions I'm asked, telling it to burn the file to the first layer only.

I then place the disk in the console, and once is gives me the option to play dvd, I remove it, and put in my wave 4 game.

The game still shows up as a DVD


Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

What kind of media are you using? Verbatim's?

Yep, I don't use any media other than Verbatim. This console has never had any media in it that wasn't retail or verbatim.

read the thread and it's definitely the firmware. . . you say it's not but thats the only way it won't work, i know because i had the same issue, it slipped my mind that i didn't update a drive when i recovered it from being locked up. just flash 1.6 into it again just to be sure. because logically theres no other reason why it wouldn't work

Well, I thought for sure I was on 1.6, but you are correct, I was apparently not, as I reflashed and it worked fine.

Thanks, guess I'm just dumb (and have too many boxes floating around).

I don't think that its a case of being dumb, most everyone has forgotten what version ixtreme their box is running at some point or another
