upgrading liteon 74850c to 1.6 from 1.51 AHHHHH!!!!

ok first off i got my 1.6 firmware from xbins when i try and use iprep 10.7 i get invalid firmware when i try and use JF 1.66 after i put probe in r707 and hit dvdkey32 i get my key dummy ect. ect and save it but when i hit yes to autoload ixtreme firmware its says can not open firmware whats going im stuck never had a prob wit firmware till now

Hmm
Have u put the firmware in the jungleflasher firmware folder?
Also you dont need to use the probe if u allready have ixtreme on the drive man
just hit the dummy from ixtreme and it will get the info for you

Shauny hit the nail on the head, your FW is not in the firmware folder of jungle flasher, you can not auto load, then click the open target FW button, or move your 1.6 into the fw folder.

its a no go did it without probe got key dummy ect.ect. saved them clicked on yes to autoload ixtreme firmware still getting

If its the repack firmware you need to rename it to ix1.6-liteon.bin as i'm sure it was named slightly different.

You can also just click dont auto load, and then click "open target FW" then browse to 1.6 and open it.

ok guys this is the first drive ive done that has been a prob for me ...ok so i finally got it to read firmware and got my CFW file while erasing drive guess what happened yup it locked up on me so im getting rdy to do the restore n the drive tips over and the tray closes on me now ? is can i still do the liteon restore while tray is closed cant open it and dont wanna force it either

just flash the firmware in, once you get the key and the cfw was made you're good to go. after the flash when you hit eject on the connectivity kit it should open up if it doesn't automatically. . .

ok finally got time to finish drive today got it flashed thanks for all the help at least now ill b rdy n know what to do when ixtreme 1.61 comes around

a couple other things is if i locks or throws an error while doing the erase on JF, DO NOT turn off power to the drive....hit the liteon erase again and powercycle again....i have found this to work on a couple occasions. if you cut power to the drive though this won't work....Also if you happen to actually lock up or brick the drive and happen to have a second liteon drive you do not need to l-o-eras in dos. you can boot up JF with the good drive so JF reconizes port io's ect and then swap drives while in JF and hit liteon erase.

@robbie I do that as well, ive had a couple give me a bad status, so I send the command again and power cycle it, it worked every time for me.

i hate whan i get a lock up drive on JF but it is more time and time doing the l-o-eras and dosflash. do that it make it easy to flash
i just hate JF so much and i still using it lol
