Is it safe to play wave 4 games on Ixtreme 1.6 with the boot disc if the PFI CRC isn't verified.
It isn't verified b/c abgx 1.0.1 doesn't recognize it as a wave 3 < game. But I was wondering if it was still safe to play it even without the PFI verification?
Thanks.
wave 4 games question
Re: wave 4 games question
i would say dont play shit right now
the new v1.61 for benq and samsung is out
update then if it passes all green with abgx360 then play it.
if you have a liteon wait for the updated firmware its not far off

Re: wave 4 games question
I have a lite-on but lets say I wanted to play tekken 6 right now with iX 1.6. The ini on Tekken is verified but since abgx isnt able to verify the PFI CRC due to it being a wave 4 game would that flag me immediately if I played it on XBL ?
Re: wave 4 games question
man
its your call
if that iso is from a in hand game dump you should be ok
if GOT IT FROM ANY WHERE ELSE I WOULD NOT PLAY IT
there is no 100% right now man
sorry

Re: wave 4 games question
So in essence playing wave 4 games with 1.61 isnt safe either because the games don't have a verified PFI CRC yet?
Basically everyone has to wait for abgx 1.0.2 to come out in order to safely play wave 4 games either on 1.61 or with 1.6+boot disc
Correct?

Re: wave 4 games question
Here's a useful posting on this topic. It looks like you can play safely even with abgx 1.0.1, just make sure you get the results shown at this website.

Re: wave 4 games question
Here's the actual contents of that link I just posted --- just so we have a good archive.
This isn't my guide and all credit goes to funksoulb @ afterdawn.
Lots of people have asked whether wave 4 games checked with abgx360 are safe, so hopefully this thread will answer that question.
abgx360's checking is split into 2 parts - the stealth check and verification, as you already know. :p
Stealth check - When the current version of abgx360 was made, wave 4 games didn't exist, therefore you will always see this when scanning a wave 4 game:-

That does not necessarily mean that the ISO is bad. It just means that based on the stealth check alone, abgx360 can't confirm that it's good as it doesn't recognise the wave 4 elements of the ISO.
Verification - When a game is in the database, abgx360 will attempt to verify it. It does this by comparing the CRC details of various elements of the ISO (DMI, SS, PFI, Video etc.) with the details/files uploaded to the database. Even though it doesn't have full support for wave 4 games, it can still compare the CRC details of the PFI and video partition of your ISO with what's in the database. If they match (along with the other CRCs), then verification is successful and the game is as safe to play as any other wave of game, so if you see all greens at the bottom of the log like this, you're good: -

Autofixing - abgx360 can still replace bad/missing SS or DMI files in a wave 4 game. What it can't do is fix a corrupt, incorrect or missing video partition when a game is wave 4. The next version will have support for that.
Personal rips - The PFI and Video CRC are always the same when games are wave 4: -
Quote:
PFI CRC = 05C6C409
Quote:
Video CRC = 1914211B (V0 = 29D07E66, V1 = EAE76B94)
If you are ripping your own games and therefore don't want to use abgx360 with autofix level 3, make sure that the CRC details match the details quoted there and as long as the other stealth files are present and correct, you're good to go.
