My 1st time trying to flash Benq

Post by Foxylady »

I have read up on how this works as my ex did this for our children, but i am left with it now and i bele3ve the3re is new stuff to help the boys continue playing games online etc with getting caught i.e firmware which i just found out what it is on here lol.
My ex took his computer so i have bought a pci sata adaptor and placed it in the pc of mine, i downloaded jungleflasher, i connect the sata cable to the xbox and no power on the xbox, i clicked on port something and it would not install, it said something like manual install which is puzzling me as i am lost what to do.
I know basic pc things but this is confusing me, i want to achieve something without need of my ex around
If it help, the pc i have is an Artisan Elonex media centre
I am trying to understand how this works, any help is very much appreciated
Many thanks

which sata pci card did you get? was it the via card?

also do you have a connectivity kit? something like this ck3 lite or ck3 pro

also the firmware, you have to get that from xbins. there's a new one out fo rthe benq drive, 1.61

and then personally i would use iPrep 10.7, so easy to flash drives.

I have manged to correct the sata card issue, it now shows in jungleflasher program, is this right, as i have been at most of the day.
I know how to burn the games as this was my part of the thing we did, he just modified everything, so i have imgburn, i know all that side of it.
I read about jungleflasher and that it can operate Mode b on hitachi drives which is my other sons console, i know it has 1.51, my sons is a benq drive and this has 1.6 i believe not the new one thou, i do not have the kit you mention as my ex never needed it as i never saw anything like that in the house when he did the mods to the 360.
I have been reading quite some today and have gotten somewhere, i do not want o be a pest and thus i am trying to learn as much and take it all in as not to inconvenience you all.
I appreciate your replies in this
Many thanks

take a look at this tutorial benq

and since you don't have a connectivity kit you'll have to manually remove the power from the drive when you have to leave the drive tray open and power it on and off.

Not working for me.
I get Write Verify Failed !
I can not even play the wave 3 games now, is that because i need to put back in teh previos firmware i saved or backd'up.
Plus when i go through the tut and do exactly what is says my pc crashes every few seconds, but i can carry on, but crashes through out flashing.
Where have i gone wrong, i think i have messed something up and my boys are back from school in one hour, please help

I have also tried to put back in the original firmware and still pc crashes and comes up write failed, now i am really in deep

do you have the original back up file from when it was flashed the first time. basically, you erased the drive and the flash didn't work. . .

When I had this happen to me it was because of the VIA drivers. Are you using a VIA sata card by chance? If so, try disabling the VIA drivers, I have a thread on doing that, if you need the link just let us know. But oddly enough, I would get the verify failed message, but the flash still worked with certain drives in my case.

Ye si saved this in the folder where the firmware goes.
There is a txt doc titled PLACE FIRMWARE HERE, what do i do with this, do i need to add something to it?
I do have a via sata card also, how do i disable the drivers, i know how to uninstall hardware and programs but not drivers etc

If i did a remote assistance in msn live messenger, would one of you be able to help me with it, i can learn from seeing what your doing and to check if my files are correct as i am lost here and boys not happy now, i have broken their xbox they think now :(

Here is where I wrote out how to disable the VIA Drivers: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4351" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You have to make sure that portio32 is installed though or jungle flasher will have no communication to the drive what so ever. Benq's are pretty brick proof as long as you have the original firmware. Unless some physical damage happens to them anyway.
