code 10 on via vt6421

I think it has something to do with my drive, idk. Im trying to flash my friends drive and I cant use my via controller when the drive is connected. Its a liteon. I have updated, do a system restore 3 days early (usually works for everything), diasble and enable the controller, Uninstalled and reinstalled. IVe seen lots of people have this but havent found a single solution to the problem.
