advice ?

flashed my sammy ms25 and was having problems with backups,tried differant media and writers still no joy , so i have installed new laser and when i put in original it loads and comes up clean disc , then when i put in backup to try most times i get open tray and every so often it comes up play game and starts to load then gives dirty disc , like i say its a new laser installed today. any ideas as to why? could it be a bad flash as its my first ? i followed tutorial but i read up on other forums about firmware tool to do something to firmware before i flash , could i of flashed with blank firmware or not, but forza 3 backup starts to load up and freezes with dirty disc error on the cut scene with red audi

If it boots originals fine it might be down to it being choosy on the discs you use. Try and get hold of a verbatim made in singapore disc and burn it again. What speed are you burning at too? Do all of mine at 2.4 and so far so good even with cheap arita discs.

verbatim 2.4x on differnant burners , could it be cause my firmware is 12x speed ? how could i reflash and drop it to 8x speed ? how would i get the firmware to change to 8x speed ?

The older firmwares were speed selectable but all the new ixtremes are 12 speed. Was it a laser off ebay? If so i'd maybe try pot tweeking it. Theres a guide on here somewhere. Shouldn't really need it if its new but it might be worth a try to rule out the laser itself.

its 2nd new laser cause same problem with first which i tried pot tweeking , now i flashed it with iprep 10.7 how would i go about flashing it with jungleflasher as i have read it might be a bad flash which a few ppl have with iprep , i have the drive key written down and on usb

To flash with JF, hook up the drive, with the tray half open click intro/device ID, then read the drive, then save your 'OFW' (or dont) now either click yes to auto load, or click no and click open target FW, then click spoof source to target, then click write, click yes to verify, then if all goes well, click outro.
