Re: help
Its flashed fine, at least the log looks good.
The x just means it failed to read that sector, but if you notice there is still 16 dots, so it failed, retried and read it fine.
Does your drive play originals, and dvd's if so, then its your media thats bad, or your dvd burner.

Re: help
What is likely going on here is your MS28 has a weak laser. Original games and DVD's are pressed with million dollar equipment, and we are burning backups with a 40 dollar drive, and a 2 dollar DVD, so the quality is much lower than original games, and original dvd's so the drive has a harder time reading it.
To me that log looks fine, and the write was verified ok, so all seems well... Try replacing your laser in that ms28 and you should be all good to go...

Re: help
Replacing the laser is as easy as opening the drive, un plugging some ribbon cables, and unscrewing the rail, then removing the laser.

There's a link to a video of me replacing the laser in my samsung/hitachi
Sammy's and Hitachi's share laser's, so you can buy either laser.
PS, if I were you, id just buy a whole new drive. You can buy the 10 dollar laser, and put it in an old worn out drive, or pay 20-30 and buy a completely brand new drive.

Re: help
You'll just have to spoof the new drive to the old drive. Should be able to find a tutorial very quickly hereandipad wrote:okay but if i buy a new drive will my xbox360 accept it like do i have to do anything to the brand new drive
