Outro / ATA Reset Bricked Liteon 74
I flashed my liteon drive using JF (firmware 1.6) and following the video tutorial found here done by Shootsteel (excellent video) , when I get to the last step which is to hit the outro / ata reset and the flash is finished. I then power the drive down , close the tray , as said in the video and now my drive wont work. I can't reconize it in dos or windows , it wont eject anymore ether. Is it locked or bricked ? Is there a way to fix this ?

This is pretty weird, ive never heard of that happening at the outro stage...
Try the lockup method, treat it as though it is locked up, it may be bricked it may be locked up, I cant tell at this point...

I have tried unlocking it by booting into dos with iprep using l-o-eras.exe but I can't get the status to FF72 , its always at FF80

Keep trying the l-o-eras command, sometimes it you send the command a couple times, it will give you a good status.

Had a one like this ages ago. Turns out my ck3 was knackered and when i was powering the drive on and off it was still trickling voltage through. Ended up yanking the power out of the ck3 and reinserting and it worked first time.

Re: Outro / ATA Reset Bricked Liteon 74
So i fixed my problem ,
what I needed to do is boot into dos with usbkey done with iprep and run l-o-eras with a drive that currently works fine. then when I ran dosflash , when I got to the step when I had to select what I wanted to do (w-write / e-erase ect..) I swap the working drive with my locked drive , I chose "liteon e" and it erased the drive. I then finished the dosflash with the newly unlocked drive and all is good
hopefully this may help any one else that had this similare problem
