I know it sounds daft but have you checked that theres not a disc stuck in the bugger? Might also be worth taking the lid off to make sure theres nothing fouling the cogs. Could also be the main wires into the drive, check that they're not split.

defo sounds like a mechanical fault

if there's no disk stuck then try ejecting the drive manually hock it bk up to the 360 and let the 360 take the tray bk in. hopefully thatl sort it

Have you got a ck3? If so hook it up and press the eject button as it will rule out a faulty mechanism if it ejects ok.

If the ck3 works fine it might be down to a faulty connection in your main dvd 360 wire. Try it with another if you have one kicking about or use the one from your ck3 to connect it up to your 360 if it fits and try again. Failing that your eject button may be knackered.

Must be a bad earth in your eject system if it works fine with the ck3 but not when linked up to the console. The only time i've came across sticking drives were older samsungs when the elastic can stretch (easily sorted by either whacking the top of the console or replacing the rubber band) Check that the eject buttons not jammed in and reopen the drive to make sure the white eject lever hasnt came out of place.. Failing that you could always try reflashing it.

Never came across that problem before but it can't hurt to try reflashing it if you've looked at the mechanism, eject switch etc. Would have been easy to check if you had a spare drive you could have linked up to the console.
