Playing official wave 4 games on a flashed console?

Hi guys

All this talk of abgx, firmware 1.61, wave 4 etc is giving me a headache! And i especially wanna play COD 6 tomorrow when its out.

I was just wondering if its possible to buy the original game, and play it through the fw1.51 i currently have installed on my xbox? Or will it simply not work becaue 1.51 doesnt recognise wave 4 games?

I know its a noob question but if you dont ask you dont get!

You will most likely be asked to accept an update and I am not sure how this will effect your console.

Yeah thats what i thought, it would probably ask me to update, then kick me off when i do!

Is there anyone out there who has an offical retail copy of COD6/any wave 4 game? And played it successfully with fw 1.51 on it?

in answer to your question you will need to update to 1.61 or the drive will not read the game. . .

if you have a lite-on drive currently there is no 1.61 firmware available.

Right, so as long as i update my samsung fw to 1.61

It should read the new official retail COD6 game, and i should be ok on xbox live?

I wont need that boot disc thingy?

once you update it'll read, you won't need the activate iso disc. wether or not you'll be "okay" on xbox live isn't gauranteed. at this point just modding the drive makes you unsafe. . .

Do you know if I can buy & play the official MW2 360 game on xbox live and get not band?
Also will the game work with out using the Activation disk?

if you have a lite-on drive, there hasn't been a 1.61 firmware released yet so you'll have to wait.

Well i'll get MW2 tonight then, and will let you know if i get banned or not.

Good thing is its only 26 quid, so should be able to get that back by selling it,. so as soon as abgx release an update, i'll get a copy of it.

Any ideas if there is a timeframe on the next abgx release?

Sainsburys are doing it for 26! (tomorrow morning)

Asda are doing it for 32! (tonight)

Makro are doing it 20! (tomorrow morning, need a Makro card)
