Do you have another xbox that you can plug into the brick to make sure its good? If not got a friend that you can test your xbox with their brick?

If their brick goes red, or your brick works fine with another xbox then the problem is your xbox. Your box has a failsafe that will cut the power should anything go wrong, so if there is something shorting out your xbox, the brick will go red and not supply any power.

There was a box in particular I flashed, and the power cable was half out, and caused the brick to go red, and every other brick it used to go red.

PS, if you are testing another box with the brick, you will need to unplug it from the wall, then plug it back in, so it will be yellow which indicated, standby, ready to supply power.
