This refers to the drives version which can be found on the top of the drive.....read your drive carefully and you will find it on the lower left hand corner There is the 7000 series, 8000 series, and now the 9000 series...thats what you got to know. Need more let us know

first power drive with tray half open
1 In JF make sure your drive is found
2 load your firmware you got from the old drive
3 load lite on firmware and click spoof to target
4 erase drive ,hit ok twice then power cycle the drive.
5 write target firmware
after done click outro

i think what docwarbucks is talking about is in 'mtkflash'. you need to 'spoof source to target to target'. the key in target is the repack key. you need to make sure the key in 'source' and target are the same. otherwise you will not be putting your key that matches the motherboard from which the drive is married too. if you write the '55aa55aa55aa55aa55aa55aa' key to this drive it will not play a backup.
