Spoofing LiteOn v83 to Hitachi v59

Post by Ivrit007 »

Got another question got da guru.

Got yet another new Arcade with the New Lite-On v83 with date of  July 2009
~ Yes I know that's the scary date and beyond that it "might" not copy the Dummy and such correctly and you will not know about it till its to late.

Enter the Spoof test :)

I have never done this before and it seems easy enough from what I have seen on the vids but please humor my lack of experience by double checking with Ya'll.

The Skinny:
* Copied the New Lite-On v83 Key data without an error ( i hope)
* I have a previously iXtreme Modded Hitachi v59 that I got from a friend whos console went RROD

The Question:
Now I am told that to make positive that the v83's Key Data was dumped properly and is ready for erasing and patching with the iXtreme 1.6 that I can Spoof a copy of the Lite-On v38's patched data on any other drive. nu?

1. Do I need to backup the already modded Data of the Hitachi drive first or will that matter for spoofing?

2. If Yes and I can back-it up, Is it possible to later flashing it back if I wish to try to fix its consoles RROD and return its
Hitachi Drive

3. Now to spoof the Lite-On v83 keys to the Hitachi v59 on JungleFlasher 1.66b i would:.....

Under FirmWare Tool Tab:
As source firmware I would enter the backup F/W from the Lite-On v83 that I made.
Then as target firmware I would put the ixtreme v1.6 lite-on firmware then
click spoof to target?
Then flash the copied, spoofed Lite-On v83 firmware in the Hitachi v59 as if it was a Lite-On drive?

Ok, I'm confused.....I thought I had it there for a moment :D

Can you clarify this process for me please.

Thank You for your service to the comunity.

if you plan on using this drive in the orig console again
you will want to keep a backup of the firmware and key on the hit dvd drive.

so "Yes you do"
Ivrit007 wrote:Is it possible to later flashing it back if I wish to try to fix its consoles RROD and return its
Hitachi Drive
that is the only reason to keep a backup of the firmware and key
so if that console gets working again you can put that drive or spoof in a different drive in it.
but to do any of that you would need a good backup of the key/firmware
Ivrit007 wrote:3. Now to spoof the Lite-On v83 keys to the Hitachi v59 on JungleFlasher 1.66b i would:.....
open jungle flasher
open source > input the lite-on dvd drrive firmware that you have

open target > this will be the hit hacked firmware you are goin to flash in the hit drive
Ivrit007 wrote:Then as target firmware I would put the ixtreme v1.6 lite-on firmware then

that is wrong

you have to flash a drive with its own firmware ONLY
the spoof data you are putting the firmware when you hit the spoof to target is a small amout of data that tell the console a lie
its just tells the console it a kind of drive its not

do not go on with this flashing till you have a good understanding of what you are doing
and
what has to be done.

Once again thank you for clearing this up for me.

Trust me I will not continue until I fully understand.
This has been my 10+ mod on XBOX-360 and I haven't messed one up yet.
Much thanks goes out to you all who provide such timely and professional feedback to out questions.

I just got off of work (midnight shift).
I will attempt this Spoofing after my nap.

Thank you.

I decided to use a BenQ VAD6038 drive from another X360 that was given to me that was totally fried
Everything about what you told me I applied to the BenQ. Worked like a charm in the New Arcade 360.

I guess at this stage I can say that the Key Data was dumped properly. Keep in mind this is one of the slightly feared LiteOn v83 of the date of July 2009.

So this is my 2nd LiteOn v83 I have successfully dumped.

Well time to Mod the real LiteOn drive and put that Arcade back together.

Thanx man, you guys are awesome.

Keep that hook sharp.
AAAAARGH!

LOL!

I had the same thing happen to me as with my last LiteOn v83 as in my post
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 282#p46282

The exact same issue.....I was following ShootSteels video. I cant believe I did this again.
This is one of the main reasons I posted that post with all the detailed pictures and such, it was to help my dumbarss in case I fell for it again.

Well time to read my own Tut again

No. Not really.

There just "some" reports of LiteOn with FW Ver. 83850 that have Drive dates on them that are July 2009 and later.
With these you need to make sure you have the Key data correctly dumped, so to do this you spoof it on another drive and try it out in the Target XBox360.

Like I did above.

It was dumped correctly so I am continuing with the original LiteOn v83.......well after I check my above tutorial out and fix my error again ^__^

Thank you for asking.
I am sure there are plenty of people out there going out and getting new Arcades (the best version to get in my opinion) and may come across this.

Well today is just full of learning (relearning) experiences.

Successful at spoofing the LiteOn v83 to a BenQ played a few new titles and such, no problems.
But screwed up AGAIN with the ShootSteel video step at the point where you Hit Lite-On Erase and cant eject my drive to finish flash.

Last time I left drive as is until I finished researching that issue that I report on above post.

This time I had already closed the drive all the way back and when I followed my own post about going to the MTK Flash 32 Tab and clicking on the Intro/Device ID button I get the Flash Chip Properties like I should but my drive is locked closed.

The Question is:
I am going to have to manually eject drive and put it in Half Open position to finish this right?

Thank you again.

I followed and this time saved that video
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=3226
This allowed me to unlock it and go back to scratch and this time put the drive half-way in before I told it to Erase.
Though I had to try twice because the drive was not at the exact position, but when I got it it erased and the FlashChip Properties finally shown and was able to write to drive.

Damn I need to remember to put that LiteOn drive Half-Way in before I click Erase.
All this would have been for nothing if I was not so thorough in making sure I had all Drive Data dumped ahead of time :D

Until my next screw-up.....
