Please Help This Mixed Up Case of Spoofing(Brkn Lite->Htchi)
Hey, I have an odd situation with my Xbox(s). I have one perfectly fine one with a destroyed liteon drive (powers on, but doesn't open and such) and I have an old one that overheats even though I've tried the penny trick. (error 0022). That one has a hitachi 47 drive. Is there anyway I could get the key from the liteon drive and make the hitachi drive work in the new, good xbox? Also, do I need the probe? Lastly, if the drive can't open, can I somehow create the key using info on the stickers, or is that just a "dummy" key? Thanks so much!!

Thanks for your response, even if it was a little snippy haha. Here's the plan: can I connect the drive to a computer thru SATA and then use DVDKey32 to extract it? I'm pretty sure I need to solder the two parts on the drive's board. Though, the real problem is that it doesn't open or close in the xbox; it's broken. I can move it with my fingers but is that enough to get the key? I'm guessing it's still "alive" becuase the xbox tries to send signals to it but im guessing the gear's broken. Sorry about before, I posted it in a hurry because my friends were yelling at me to get dinner with them (college.... lol). Also, sorry for my lack of experience in the xbox hacking field! Thanks!

Sorry if I seemed snipy....it was a response to the text like questions that pour in....we do our best to help but when critical info is left out it make it difficult.
Here we go let's see if this might be salvageable.
If it was stepped on or thrown that you might be in luck...as you can get a replacement drive to swap the mobos with and proceed to dump and flash that one....your good to go.
If it was during a flash and it is the JF lockup then you tossed it to the ground you might be out of luck.
Hit us back we want to help.
Explain the entire circumstances please.

how was it broken? Do you know?vball wrote:it's broken.

It was actually a drive that wouldn't open so my roommate "ripped it apart." Once he was done with it, it was split in two (the tray and the controller). I put the tray back in but it doesnt move at all and the xbox says "Opening tray" for a little and then says "Closing tray" and nothing moves in it. Any chance it'll work? (once again, thanks a bunch!)Shootsteel wrote:Sorry if I seemed snipy....it was a response to the text like questions that pour in....we do our best to help but when critical info is left out it make it difficult.
