iprep 12

Post by pink »

4 those of u who use this, an iprep 12 will be out according to klutsh.
PLEASE DO NOT USE LT WITH IPREP 11.X
THE INCLUDED LITETOOL DOES NOT WORK WITH IX LT
ONCE TESTING IS DONE IPREP 12 WILL BE RELEASED PUBLICLY WITH FULL SUPPORT
u can flash a 74 with 10.7 using the LT touch.the other drives cannot with 11.6.
per klutsh 'Key offsets for 83, 83v2 & 93 all changed
Only 74 stayed the same'

so how do I go about prepping a stick using iprep 10.7 for LT, I tried yesterday to load firmware in 10.7 and 11.6 and obviously they need an update file coz the firmware wouldnt load. Its gonna be my first time doing a lite on, Ive downloaded and converted and put all vid tuts on my phone so I can watch while im doing it so I carnt go wrong. Just curious how you got the LT FW to load in iprep ?

i tried several fw. the one that worked for me was the ixtreme 1.61-12x for 7xx, 8xx , 9xx and 1.6-12x for then ben and sam. i spoofed my key into the target fw, using JF, and saved it on the desktop. renamed it L74CFW.bin. i have a liteon 74 obviously. then created two folders in the backup folder of the stick. name one '1234567' and then inside that name the other '12345', copy and paste the spoofed fw from desktop into the '12345' folder. restart the PC and boot to the USB. at the c prompt type L74, iprep will respond with the specific commands to type. i type L74 1234567 12345 w and iprep will erase. then it will ask to power cycle the drive and hit any button to write the banks.

i have also used the the 11.6 and JF 1.70 to create a usb stick for flashing, my system is a windows xp pro sp3.
i tried flashing a drive with a usb stick that was a from an sp2 system on an sp3 system and it would not flash the drive. i needed to reformat the usb and make bootable using the sp3 system for it to work.
klutsh is working on iprep 12 if u want to wait

if u use the 0800 fw u may need to restart the PC with the tray half open, in order for windows to pickup the drive.

Cheers Coffree, No m8 its a 7 series. Like I mentioned somewhere else ive prepped a stick already with 1.61 using iprep 11.6, Then right after I read about this LT. Ive heard theres a iprep v12 in the pipeline coming shortly so I may aswell just wait for that. I just hope its the same similar process as ive watched in your vid doing this drive with iprep 10.7, Somehow I carnt get that version to load 1.61.

I know how to prep a stick and flash etc etc just curios as to how people where doing this new FW using iprep if the latest versions arnt supportive of LT. Il just wait guys as Im expecting my CK3 Lite next friday hopefully, Iprep v12 should hopefully be out by then.

Thanks and sorry If Ive gone off topic at all.

P.S The 1 thing Im a bit stuck with I have an idea which leads from the PC I use to power this CK3 Lite but not 100%, Do I just use the Molex what powers my PC hard drive yeah ? and do I need any drivers installed using the serial method ? Just plug and play basically I suppose ?

for your power supply issue u can use the xecuter ck3 xt adapter. i use a molex splitter. the ck3 is cheaper as i paid $20 at a computer parts store for the splitter, before the XT came out.
with the splitter i use a molex from one of my extra optical drives

Thanks Pink but you must of missunderstood m8, Unless I didnt explain proper im not sure but yeah, Im getting the XT adapter with the super Lite bundle, I know where to put this and what is supposed to go there, What Im confused about is which molex lead do I use ? Im sure last I saw inside me PC was a couple of spares wrapped together, Like 1 plugged into my HD and a few not plugged in anything sort of bundled together, Presuming these are in fact Molex connections as Its just what ive picked up they are. If these are Molex which one do I use ? Can I just unplug the one the HD is using and use that one as I always unplug all the HD leads anyway when Im using iprep. Obviously if Im gonna be using the XT adapter so I dont have to open the case each time then I dont get how you can use the sata port for the XT as Iprep states you need to use Com port 1, But your PC is using Com 1, So can I get the PC to use com 2 and leave the XT plugged into 1 the whole time. Hope its just as easy as plugging the HD sata into port 2 but I doubt it.
Thanks for anyones help. ;)

Yeah you can use the pc power supply molex connectors (the ones that are wound together and not being used are fine) although i tend to use a seperate atx supply as i had a problem when i was using my pc ones. The com port has nothing to do with the sata mickey it's just another name for the serial port on the back (not all pc's have them so its worth having a look) :

:D Dale comes to me rescue once again, Thanks Dale.

I see, I presumed when I read always use com1 in iprep,I thought They where those 2 sata ports inside. Pleased you put me right on that one. So the Molex that goes into my HD on my PC I can use that one yeah ? Coz when I flashed drives before Ive always just unplugged all this. So I can just go ahead as usual and unplug it all but put the HD power lead into the CK3. So I can just plug that XT adapter into the main Sata port and use my HD on the other one for me PC.

I opened up the drive today for a look at that R707 hole, Man those are tiny, On all the pics ive seen they look massive and easy to prod, But what made me curious was ive read that careful not to touch that silver and black thing beside it. Now im a bit worried after seeing how close the hole is to it Is there a way I can be sure not to touch it, ie like having the probe there already before I turn it on ?

My Paypal account says expected clearing date of payment is 28th so I be doing it the weekend hopefully. Ive installed all possible updates today too. I be buzzin if I can do it like, My first lite on. :)

The xt adaptors aren't needed they're just a way to leave it connected to a molex and sata lead so you just have to connect another sata and molex straight to the back of your pc so you don't have to keep taking the side of your pc case off but you can bypass it altogether if you want. And Yeah i always put it in the hole before i turn it on (errr thats not as filthy as it sounds :o )
Any problems and it might be worthwhile investing in a via 6421 card if you're planning on using iprep as they're the most compatible but it won't hurt to try your onboard sata's.

My VIA card seems fine as it did my Benq always using iprep fine. Il just give it a go and see how I get on. Was gonna ask me lass to press the keys while I hold the probe coz its like a bit of a stretch.lol.

Yeah I know the XT is just an adapter but be nice to put it in as you said saves me from opening the case. Think you get the extension leads for inside with this kit ive bought.

So you said you put on the probe before you turn it on. Does doing that fit in with the steps klutsh shows you in his vid tut. Im sure il be fine anyway its just the size of the circuit board you have to work with that worries me. By the looks of it the slightest of wobble or shake and the drive is done for. Ive got a new elite also which I wont ever flash to fall back on if it ng so not all bad. But least when ive got a CK3 kit I will never but stuck again. :D

Thanks again for taking the time to help me Dale. Always appreciated.
