Getting key from my impossible liteon 74850
Getting key from my impossible liteon 74850
Hi guys,
Specs:
WinXP sp2, .net framework 2.
portio32 installed
ck3 usb drivers installed
ck3 pro with probe
I'm not able to get the key from my drive, here's what I've done:
I've tried JF, had to have my VIA drivers installed or else I couldn't recognize the drive. Recognized the drive with both a usb cable and COM cable (not recognized in ck3tool 1.2.4!?!)
Hit DVD32key, got "Warning! Bad serial data".
Then I tried iprep. I have to use version 10.2 because I can't boot from usb, and 10.7 didn't create a correct floppy (only 3 files.)
No problem booting from floppy. I put in my consoles serial number after I have went through the ck3 steps. But when it's ready to get key, and I hit "Y" nothing is happening... This is the problem, it seems impossible to get the key. When I restart and try to do this again, it seems something have been written, cause I two messages like "INQUIRY.BIN" exists.
I also wonder if something has happened to the probe, because it doesn't light up when probing R707. But when using a screwdriver to bridge the probe lights up just fine, but it's difficult to hold it in place. But still same result, no key. I believe something is faulty, but can't determine what. If you believe so, maybe you could help me go step by step to rule things out? I just don't want to do any soldering.
Sorry if I give a lot of info you don't need, but I just wanted to state what I have tried.
Hopefully someone has encountered something of same and can help.

Re: Getting key from my impossible liteon 74850
a floppy is not going to work with a 74oo liteon
all the files need will be to big
if you probe is not lighting up then its a bad probe or you have it in the wrong place
most all pc will boot on a flash
you just have to get your setting right in the bios
if you are going to use jungle flasher
you cant have the via drivers installed
have a read over this
you need to do it.

Re: Getting key from my impossible liteon 74850
Thanks for reply mr. CoFree. I'll go over the post and see if there's something I'm missing.
I've gone over the BIOS, there's no USB boot options there. It's an old motherboard, ASUS a7v266.
Forgot to mention that I've got a via6421A pci card.

it has a setting to boot from other devices
you can also look into updating your bios

Update:
I've tried different things in JF and have taken a few screenshots and hopefully make things clearer.
1. Installed drivers according to tutorial from team xecuter 2. Freeze when choosing I/O port in Jungleflasher, using usb 3. Freeze when choosing I/O port in Jungleflasher, using serial 4. Installed uniata via drivers. 5. Drive recognized in JF 6. I now eject drive, power down ck3, push tray half way in, push eject button, power on drive (tried doing a little differently also.). I then use the probe, which doesn't turn green and get ***WARNING***Serial data is bad.
Then I tried bridging with a screwdriver, same message. Should just be to hold the screwdriver on the to solder points right below the R707 hole?
Oh, and I've got almost exactly the same drive as in team xecuters tutorial, except mine is manufactured in August 2008, theirs in September.

Re: Getting key from my impossible liteon 74850
in the last pic you put on the com port doesnot show ur probe, so thats prob why your getting serial data bad. You have the right port selected in one of your pics but not in the last

I'm not sure I understand. Should I see some connection with the probe in JF?commando_lee wrote:in the last pic you put on the com port doesnot show ur probe, so thats prob why your getting serial data bad. You have the right port selected in one of your pics but not in the last
By the way I'm using a serial in the last picture, not the usb.

Update:
So, I got to try another computer.
Here's the device manager now: And here is Jungleflasher: I still get ***Warning*** Serial Data is Bad. Used the probe, which doesn't light op when using R707. But I accidentally touched the little metal above the R707 and the probe lit up for a quick second.
I've tested the drive to see if it is still working, it is. I will try to see if this computer can boot from floppy later on.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately I think so to. I've tested another computer, another sata card, and I've got a new probe, still same result. But I would like to be certain, have you got any way I could test the ck3 pro?Gony wrote:happend to me. you need a new ck3 pro. its a facture problem.

I did like you, tested it on via chip, tested on my other computer and my friends computer, still the same. Get a new ck3 pro. And the problem will be solved

IIIIIhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, finally I got it! Ordered a replacement ck3 pro just before christmas, so it took a while, but when I got it the spoofing went easy. No problems at all. Thank you so much for the tip GonyGony wrote:I did like you, tested it on via chip, tested on my other computer and my friends computer, still the same. Get a new ck3 pro.
