Dashboard Upgrades/ Flash Mods

I've heard from a friend that if your dash board is upgraded to a certain extent that it make flash moding not possible or at least more difficult. Does anyone know if this is true or not, and if so what are the details behind it.

never known that to be the case a dash board upgrade wont stop you flashing the drive

What your friend ment is that you cannot do a jtag hack on your console if its had a dashboard up to a certain date.

Louis is right no matter what dashboard you have, you can still flash the drive to enable you to play backups. Just wont be able to do the jtag exploit

if anything the latest dashboard updates gives you the advantage if your only using your xbox for backups and not jtaging because you can install games to your hard drive

You can do the same with a jtagged box.

yeah i know that but what i ment is that if your not planning on jtagging then it DOES matter what dashboard you have, if you havent got the latest one then you cant install games

ohh, yea your right.

You can only keep an old dash for so long if your going to game on that xbox though, seeing as most games have update partition's on them, and will force you to update your kernel before the game will play.
