lite on 74850c version

hi all just got a lite on 74850c version havent tried to read /write to the drive just plug it in and tried to to search for my com port using jf but it wasnt founding it and now my drive wont open what can i do ?

You plugged it in and didnt do anything to the drive and now it will not eject?

Did you plug the power cable in upside down? Thats a common thing with the lite-on's, its easy to plug the power cable in upside down with the lite-on's if youve done that youve fried the drive.

nope power cable was the right way around because i ejected it then push the tray half way in then tried to sort out the com port after bout a hour of install and uninatalling the usb to serial drivers and jf just would not found them tried to close the drive with my ck3 and it wouldnt.

So have you the tray isnt closed? Try plugging it into your 360, and turning it on, it should close the drive, if it does, there is something wrong with your ck3, if not its back to the drawing board.

when it didnt close with the ck3 i unpluged it and close it by hand put it in the 360 pressed eject and there was nothing i think it dead but i dont no why as i didnt try and do anything to the drive to make it go like this.

Well if you just push the tray closed by hand its not really closed, you need to finish the job by turning the gear a bit to raise up the laser housing.

You can always try iPrep see if you can recover it that way, to be quite honest I dont know why the drive would just die, if you have warranty on your xbox still, you can put it back in the 360 tell M$ the drive doesnt eject and send it to them.

i havent got the key for it so iprep wont work will it and im not sure if there stall warranty ill go on xbox.com now and try book it in .
